Cyber Training Laboratory set up by NASSCOM
The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) will set up a cyber training laboratory in the city to train police personnel in dealing with cyber crimes. With the initiative of NASSCOM-DSCI (Data Security Council of India) and with the sponsorship of Andhra Bank, the 'Cyber Lab' has been set up.

Andhra Pradesh director general of police, RR Girish Kumar inaugurated the 'Cyber Lab' which is the seventh such centre to be established across the country. Complimenting the CID and other agencies on setting up the lab, Girish Kumar said, "The subject of technology-related crimes particularly mobile phones, internet-related crime are proving to be a great challenge to law enforcing agencies." "Now we have launched this lab which would not only impart training but also help in building capacity and upgrade the skills of investigating officers with required technical inputs and investigation techniques in investigating cyber crimes."

The lab will act as nodal centres in Andhra Pradesh to conduct awareness programmes and upgrade the skills of not only the police officers but also of officers from prosecution, judiciary and other government departments, apart from industry personnel. Pratap Reddy, director, cyber security, Nasscom said it was the seventh cyber lab in the country. He said the lab would also work to create awareness across state about growing menace of cyber crime and how to take precautions to handle crime.
